Selfie Bebo Death: Burla Police takes accused husband on 2-day remand

Sambalpur: Expediting the probe process in the ‘Selfie Bebo’ fame Simran Singh death case, Burla Police today took her husband Dhurbraj Suna on a two-day remand.

A team of Burla Police arrived at Sambalpur Circle Jail at around 12 noon to take Suna on remand as his remand with Sambalpur Police ended today. Sambalpur Police had taken Suna on remand on January 27.

While police are yet to trace the in-laws of the dead actress, they had put up a ‘latka’ (proclamation notice) at their house located in Belpahar on January 17. The move on the part of the police came after the accused failed respond to their notice for appearance time and again.

Notably,  Simran Singh, who had acted in a number of Sambalpuri music albums and rose to the fame after being featured in ‘Selfie Bebo’ song, was found dead under a bridge of Mahanadi river near Goira Matha under Burla police limits in Sambalpur on January 3.

While, the autopsy report revealed the cause of the actress’ death as head injury her father claimed it to be a case of murder. He also filed a case against Simran’s in-laws alleging that they used to torture her and for which she was staying with him since December 7.
