Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police tightened security arrangements for the idol immersion of goddess Durga tomorrow.
According to DCP Satyabrata Bhoi, around 30 platoons of police force and 150 police officials will be deployed in Bhubaneswar to maintain law and order during the immersion of the idols tomorrow.
In addition, 8 platoons UPTTI including 90 Havildars and 70 traffic officials will be stationed for smooth traffic management.
Similarly, eight platoons of police forces and 450 police officers will be deployed in silver city Cuttack tomorrow. The teams of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), SOG and Quick Action Team (QAT) will monitor the idol immersion event there.
The idols of goddess Durga will be immersed in temporary ponds constructed on the banks of Kuakhai, Bhargavi and Daya rivers on the city’s outskirts.
The immersion of the idols from the Old Town will be done during the day time tomorrow and others will be done in evening and to be completed before 12 AM.
