Jagatsinghpur: The authorities of Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital have asked the private security guard firm to withdraw all security guards and reappoint new guards at the hospital.

The decision came in the wake of the incident in which a cartoon of liquor was found from the hospital premises on June 30. The stock of illegal liquor was found from a room kept reserved for security guards of the hospital.

“During our investigation, no security guard confessed of keeping liquor bottles in the room. So we have asked the security guard firm to withdraw their employees including the supervisor. The contract of the firm will expire this month and the new agency will provide security guards from August,” said Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Jagatsinghpur, Ajay Kumar Baitahru today.

State health minister Naba Kishore Das has also sought a report from the CDMO after the incident. “We have completed the probe and have submitted the report. We have also decided to keep a watch on the security guards to ensure that such incidents don’t occur in future,’ added the CDMO.
