Keonjhar: A man was killed being run over by a speeding truck at Suakati area under Banspal Tehsil in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Dushmant Patra of Bayapandadhar village under Suakati police limits.
Dushmant who worked as a security guard in Suakati OMC mines was returning home riding his bike (Registration No. OD 07 G 0068) late in the night when the mishap took place. A speeding truck coming from Banspal struck him from behind and mowed down. He died on the spot.
Police have reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after seizing the bike. They are also trying to trace the truck which had escaped from the spot after accident.
