Cuttack: Normal life was affected as Section 144 of the CrPC continued on second day on Tuesday in Narendrapur village under Nemala police limits in Cuttack district of Odisha.
The authorities on Monday imposed Section 144 at the village following the torching of a police jeep after a group clash in the area.
As many as five platoons of police force have been deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident.
According to reports, two youths got into a heated argument on the issue of overtaking on the road. One of them called some of his associates from Kakudiapada village. Later, they barged into the other youth’s house and attacked him. A woman and a minor boy were also injured in the attack.
Moments later, the locals staged a road blockade near the minority community slum in Kakudiapada village by burning tyres.
Police rushed the spot to pacify the protestors but they torched a police jeep.
