Section 144 Clamped In Stone Quarries In Jajpur

Jajpur: The Jajpur district administration today imposed prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC in stone quarries of three mouzas under Dharmasala tehsil.

District administration officials said that the prohibitory order was clamped in the area to stop illegal stone mining.

The prohibitory orders have been clamped in the quarries in Sahanidiha, Anjira, Kusunpur Bichhakhandi mouzas spread over an area of 700 acres following a directive from the Dharmasala Tehsildar. Also, the Sec 144 was imposed at a sand ghat in Raichhanda mouza. The administration has deployed two sections of the police force to prevent any untoward incident in these areas.

“The state government suffered a loss of revenue of lakhs due to the illegal stone quarrying in these areas,” said an official.
