Schools reopen for students of class 8 and above in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The offline classes for students of class 8 and above will resume in Odisha schools from today as the Covid situation in State is gradually improving. The same was announced by Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra.

Reportedly, the School and Mass Education Department has fixed timing for various classes. The teaching hours are fixed from 10 AM to 4 PM for students reading from Class 9th to 12th in all Educational Institutions.

Similarly, colleges and technical institutes will reopen from today including short term training and skill development training centres. The hostels associated with educational institutions and training centres will also reopen.

The classrooms of all educational institutions will be arranged in a way so that social distancing can be maintained among the students.

Besides, the schools for the physical class of the students from KG to class 7 will reopen from February 14.

The physical classes for students from standard 1 to 8 will begin from 10 am till 1 pm. There will be a class promotion test from KG to 8th grade.

It is to be noted that the students also have the option to choose between online and offline method of classes.
