Schools in Bhubaneswar, Jagatsinghpur district & Anganwadi centres across Odisha to be shut tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Thursday announced to close all Anganwadi centres across state and schools in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur district tomorrow, in view of incessant rains as the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal turning into deep depression.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the authorities to keep the Anganwadi centres closed for tomorrow for the safety of children. Besides, he asked to close all schools in the capital city and Jagatsinghpur district as the weathermen have predicted heavy rainfall tomorrow.

Patnaik also has advised the District Collectors to take appropriate decision after assessing the rain situation.

Notably, there was heavy rainfall in most parts of the state in the past 24 hours.

Earlier in the day, Cuttack and Puri district administrations had declared closure of all educational institutions in the districts due to incessant rainfall and water-logging.
