Bhubaneswar: A student of a government school of the city died and another mate went missing while taking bath in Kuakhai River on Wednesday.
The boys have been identified as the students of Unit-IX Government High School here in Odisha.
According to reports, a group of five students drowned in the flowing water, while taking bath in the river, outskirt of the city.
Hearing the screams of the students, the locals, who were also bathing in the river, rushed to the spot and rescued three boys. They also immediately alerted the fire personnel.
One of the two missing students was rescued by the fire personnel and rushed to the capital hospital here, where the doctor declared him brought dead.
The rescue operation was continuing to trace the missing boy till the news was filed. More details are awaited.
