Satkosia Violence: Police arrest BJP’s Angul district president from Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: By intensifying action against those involved in the October 21 violence which hit the Tainsi village in Satkosia area in Angul in protest to Royal Bengal tigress Sundari’s alleged mauling of a man, police yesterday arrested BJP’s Angul district president Bhagirathi Pradhan from the city.

Pradhan was taken into custody from his Mendhasala house located on Bhubaneswar outskirts.

With the arrest of Pradhan, the total number of persons held in the case rose to 29.

Notably, angry locals of Tainsi village blocked the National Highway 55 at Jarapada square and held a demonstration by keeping the body of the deceased on the day of the incident. However, they turned unruly later and targeted the district SP’s vehicle and the police team which had reached the spot to maintain law and order.
