Cuttack: Sarpanches of three Gram Panchayats (GPs) under Tigiria block in Odisha’s Cuttack district have ordered for a 24-hour complete shutdown.
According to reports Sarpanches of Nuapatna, Jemadeipur and Bhagda ordered for the complete shutdown.
The ordered for the complete shutdown was issued following detection of third COVID positive cases in the area.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Odisha government has delegated each sarpanch of the State with the “collectors’ power” within their jurisdiction in accordance with the provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and Odisha Covid-19 regulation with an aim that the lockdown and quarantine guidelines are implemented at the grassroot level successfully.
