Saraswati Puja Celebrated In Odisha With Fervour And Gaiety

Bhubaneswar: Maa Saraswati, Goddess of knowledge, arts and music, was on Thursday worshiped in Odisha with religious fervour and gaiety.

Saraswati Puja is celebrated on Basant Panchami or the fifth day of Odia Magha month.

The festival, which is considered as an auspicious occasion for students, has been celebrated in almost all educational institutions across the state.

The students pray to the goddess for wisdom, knowledge and pious living. They place their books, pens and musical instruments beside the idol for the entire day of Saraswati Puja to seek Goddess’ blessings.

People wear yellow clothes on Basant Panchami as it considered favourite by the Goddess.
