Puri: Ahead of World Health Day on April 7, internationally acclaimed sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo created a sand sculpture today near the Light House at Puri Beach.
In his Sand Art, Manas has tried to create awareness among people for maintaining a healthy lifestyle by practicing yoga, exercise. He has also insisted to have nutritious food on a daily basis. The art piece conveys awareness for a healthy environment.
The sand art is 18 feet wide and about 15 tons of sand has been used in it. It took him about 7 hours to sculpt it. In his sand art, a message has also been sculpted which reads as “World Health Day” & “your Health is in your Hands”.
It is to be noted that this year, the theme of World Health Day is ‘Our planet, our health’. This year’s theme aims to focus global attention on the overall well-being of our planet and the people living on it.
