Sambalpur: Tragic struck a family when a man and his two children drowned while taking bath at Daleipada ghat in Mahanadi river at Sambalpur yesterday.
While the bodies of the father and son were fished out yesterday after long search operation. Efforts are still on to trace daughter Ruksana Parveen. Today, scuba driver and fire service were engaged in rescue operation
Sources said the trio had gone to Daleipada ghat in Mahanadi river for a bath when the girl slipped and fell from a height of 30 feet. To rescue the girl her father and brother dived into the waters but they were swept away by the strong currents in the river.
However, all three were swept away and went missing in the river.
Later, the son and father’s body were fished out of the water.
