Sambalpur: Within hours after a man was found beheaded in sleep in Tileimala village under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district, the main accused of the murder surrendered before police with the severed head this morning.
The accused has been identified as Ujjwala Munda, a relative of the deceased Satyanarayan Munda.
Ujjwala arrived at the Ainthapali police limits later this morning carrying a bag containing the head of the deceased and the weapon of the crime, an axe. He was immediately taken into custody.
While the motive of the accused behind the killing is still not clear, police have started investigation in this direction.
Notably, family members of Satya had found his decapitated body inside a mosquito net at his house today morning. He had been beheaded to death while sleeping in the patio area last night.
