Salman Khan thanks Odisha govt for organizing Hockey World Cup

Cuttack: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan thanked the Odisha government for organizing the Hockey Men’s World Cup-2018.

Attending the extension inaugural ceremony of the Hockey World Cup at the Barabati Stadium here this evening, the Bhaijan of Hindi film industry, hailed the effort of the Odisha government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in organizing the mega international tournament for India.

Salman Khan also said that the Odisha CM is a man of great simplicity. Besides, he appreciated the residents of the Millennium City for making the city to be known as the city of brotherhood in the country.

“I am grateful to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for giving me an opportunity to come here and greet everyone on this occasion. I am touched by the warmth and welcome of the people of this State,” said the Dabang of Bollywood.

The Odisha CM also acknowledged Salman Khan’s presence and thanked him for being a part of the event. “The people of Cuttack truly enjoyed your wonderful show today. Thank you for being here,” the CM said.

This apart, Patnaik also felicitated both Salman Khan and AR Rahman.


While this was Salman Khan’s maiden visit to Odisha, it was Music maestro AR Rahman’s second consecutive performance.

Earlier yesterday, Rahman compeered a spectacular show at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar during the opening ceremony of the Hockey World Cup.
