Sadhu Nepak quits Congress after denied ticket for Odisha Assembly election

Bhubaneswar: Hours after the Odisha unit of Congress released the list of its candidates for the forthcoming elections, former Bargarh MLA Sadhu Nepak resigned from the party after failing to get the party ticket.

According to the first list of the candidates which the grand old party announced late last night, Niapan Das will be contesting from Bargarh Assembly Constituency in the upcoming election which will begin from April 11.

Speaking about his resignation to the newsmen, Nepak claimed that he has been working for the party wholeheartedly since 1970. However, the party sidelined me now by not giving me the ticket even though I was told earlier that the party will nominate me for Bargarh seat.

The former Bargarh legislator informed that he will soon send his resignation to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik.
