Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 6.09 crores from the state contingency fund for relief measures in the wake of the floods in five KBK districts.
The five districts are Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
The amount was approved on the basis of the preliminary reports filed by Collectors of the concerned districts on the recent floods in these districts, said Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethy.
The government has directed the District collectors to provide financial assistance to the affected people through their bank accounts, he said.
The names of all the beneficiaries are to be mentioned in the official website of the districts to prevent leakages in disbursing the relief fund, Sethy added.
