Dhenkanal: Adding to the unending episode of ‘suspect cash’ seize in the State during the ongoing election, the Election Commission’s static surveillance team seized Rs 4 lakh from BJP’s Hindol Assembly candidate Ashok Nayak’s car in Mangalpur today.
The unaccounted cash came to fore after the squad was on an inspection duty this morning and intercepted Nayak’s SUV en-route to an unknown place. During the search of the vehicle bearing Registration Number OD 02 V 4369, the officials found the case and seized them after Nayak failed to provide necessary documents in support of the source of it.
Later, informing on the seized cash Dhenkanal SP Anupama James said Nayak is being questioned on the cash at the Town Police Station.
