Rs 30 lakh looted at gunpoint from bank staff in Odisha

Bhadrak: Three bike-borne armed miscreants looted around Rs 30 lakh from some bank employees near Kuapada village of the district today.

According to sources, some employees of UCO Bank of Bhadrak town branch were carrying the cash to deposit in the bank’s Jalanga branch. They were traveling in a car. All of a sudden, three men armed with pistols and daggers came in and waylaid their car (OR-02 BK-0907). Then, they threatened the bank officials and fled the spot with the cash.

Later, the bank officials lodged a complaint with Bhadrak town police. Based on the written complaint, police started an investigation into the matter.
