Paradip: Launching yet another crackdown on ‘suspect money’ ahead of third phase polling in Odisha, Election Commission’s static surveillance team seized cash worth Rs 1.48 lakh from a car in Rangeigad flyover in the port city yesterday.
As per the report, the squad was on an inspection duty in the afternoon when came across a car moving suspiciously and intercepted it. While conducting a search inside the vehicle they found the suspect cash and seized those as the driver failed to produce necessary documents regarding the source of the money.
The driver was detained for questioning in the case later and an investigation was launched.
