Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Bhubaneswar seized around 39 kg of ganja and arrested two persons today.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shankar Swain and Rabinarayan Swain of Ganjam district.
Shankar and Rabinarayan, on interrogation, admitted that they transported the ganja through bus from Aska to Bhubaneswar with two bags. They supposed to transport it to Durgapura by train No. 20813 (PURI-Jodhapur) Express. However, they were apprehended by RPF STF near the platform no-1 exit gate of Bhubaneswar railway station.
The said bags were seized and both peddlers were arrested by SI Priyanka of RPF/Post/BBS and handed over to GRPS, Bhubaneswar.
In this connection, GRPS/BBS registered a case No- 44/2022 Dated 17.03.2022 U/S 20 (b) (ii) (C) NDPS Act 1985, said sources adding that the market value of the seized contraband is said to be Rs 39,0000.
