RPF Foils Human Trafficking, Rescues Five Minor Girls From Puri Station

Puri: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) today foiled a human trafficking attempt and rescued five minor girls from Puri railway station.

RPF officials said that they spotted the girls sitting in an isolated place in the station through CCTV. “Our men went to the place and tried to get the details of the girls. However, they denied disclosing their identities. Later they were brought to the RPF post where they claimed that they have left their respective homes after being lured by a contractor,’ said an RPF official.

The girls said that the contractor has asked them to board Puri-Tirupati Express and they were waiting for the contractor. “We tried to tracer the contractor but he was not found in the station area. Later the girls were handed over to the ChildLine,” added the official.
