Rourkela: With no respite in sight from crime against women in the state, a girl student of an engineering college in the Steel City has been abducted and gang raped for three days by six youths in neighbouring Jharkhand State.
As per the report, the victim was waiting to board a train to Jharusuguda at Rourkela Railway Station on December 31 last year, when the misfortune came her way. A youth suspected to be her boyfriend approached her and convinced to board a different Jharkhand bound train claiming that the train she was waiting for was cancelled.
After taking the girl to Lotapahar area of Jharkhand district the accused allegedly detained her in an abandoned house and raped for three days along with five of his friends before dumping in a nearby forested area.
Some locals rescued the victim and called up police after which the incident came to fore. The girl has been admitted to a government hospital in Rourkela and Railway Police has started investigation into the case.
