Rourkela Assistant Collector under vigilance scanner, Raid underway

Sundargarh: Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid on properties associated with the Assistant Collector of Rourkela in Angul district on Tuesday morning on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.

The Rourkela Assistant Collector has been identified as Manoranjan Nayak. He worked as the Assistant Collector at Office of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Rourkela.

Based on a piece of reliable information, the vigilance sleuths conducted a raid at five places including residential building (double storyed) vide MIG-II-27 at Phase-III at Chhend in Kalinga Vihar of Rourkela, residential building (Triple storyed) vide MIG-II-264 at Phase-III at Chhend in Kalinga Vihar of Rourkela, Office chamber of Nayak at Rourkela, Residential house of Nayak’s cousin located at Dhanurjayapur near Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur Road and 3 BHK Flat vide No.215, Block-E of Acropolis Apartment in Gothapatna at Bhubaneswar.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted by five teams of the Odisha Vigilance team comprising one Additional SP, four DSPs, five Inspectors, and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.

Further investigation regarding the vigilance raid is underway.
