Bhubaneswar: In a horrific incident, a young couple was attacked by chain snatchers at Sijua here at around 9 pm on Sunday.
The miscreants shot the husband on his leg, snatched a gold ornament from his wife and immediately fled the spot.
The victims were identified as Biswaranjan Swain and his wife Monalisa. Biswaranjan, who sustained bullet injuries on his leg, was admitted to the AIIMS in the capital city.
An FIR has been lodged at Khandagiri Police Station in connection with this case, and police have started investigation into the matter.
