Road accident in Odisha: Driver, helper burnt alive

Keonjhar: In an unfortunate incident, the driver and helper of a trailer truck have been burnt alive after the vehicle dashed against another iron-laden truck at NH-520 under Champua police limits near the Naradpur Shishumandir square in Keonjhar district.

Reportedly, the speeding iron-laden truck hit the trailer truck from behind following which the vehicle’s cabin broke and it caught fire on the road.

As a result, both of them were burnt alive inside the vehicle as they were unable to escape from the truck.

The locals spotted the vehicle on fire and informed the local authorities. On getting the information, the Champua police along with the firefighters arrived at the spot. It took them almost two hours to contain the blaze.

An investigation has been initiated into the incident. The identities of the deceased driver and helper have not been ascertained yet.
