Jajpur: A tragic road accident took place near Ketakia Chowk under Jajpur Sadar police limits. A truck crushed a young woman during her morning walk.
The deceased has been identified as Barsharani Jena of Barua village. The truck was carrying construction material and lost control and ran over Barsha. She died on the spot.
The locals protested and blocked the Bari-Jajpur road after the accident. The traffic was disrupted for some time at night.
Police arrived on the scene and are investigating into the matter.
The truck driver and helper managed to flee the scene after the crash.
