Baliguda: Three persons, including two women, died on the spot while 13 others were injured as the mini bus in which they were travelling turned turtle at Letingia village under K. Nuagan tehsil in Kandhamal district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Gabriel Digal, driver of the bus, Mandakini Pradhan and Simuli Pradhan.
According to sources, the road accident took place after Digal lost control over the wheels of the ill-fated bus.
On being informed, local police arrived on the spot and carried out a rescue operation with the help of other commuters.
The injured persons were rushed to the government-run hospital in Baliguda. The bodies were sent to the hospital for postmortem.
A woman identified as Masiha Pradhan, who was also traveling in the vehicle, delivered a baby in the hospital.
