Bhubaneswar: A review meeting of airports of Eastern region was today held at the conference room of Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra presided over the review meeting in which details of airport performances such as passenger facilities, infrastructure developments and profitability were discussed.
Representatives of airports of Eastern region ie- Kolkata,Bhubaneswar, Patna,Ranchi, Raipur, Bagdogra Portblair and Gaya participated in the meeting.
Officials of Bhubaneswar airport said that the airport made a profit of Rs 18.56 crore during 2018-19 financial year and registered a 27.9 percent growth in passenger traffic.
“The airport handled more than 41 lakh domestic passengers between April 2018 and March 2019. Besides the airport handled as many as 94320 international passengers during this period,” said an official.
