Restrictions On Cremation Of Bodies By Non-Puri Residents In Swargadwar

Puri: The Puri administration on Saturday imposed restrictions on the cremation of bodies at the Swargadwar by people from outside the district in view of the rising Covid cases across the State, informed Sub-Collector.

Reportedly, the restrictions will be applicable from January 10 (Monday).

Only residents of Puri will be allowed inside the Swargadwar to cremate the bodies. The cause of the death has to be anything other than Covid-19.

The residents of Puri have to produce self-identification documents and specify the cause of death for cremation.

The restrictions will remain in force till further orders, said reports.
