Residents of containment zone in Bhubaneswar allege inadequate supply of essential commodities

Bhubaneswar: Residents of Dumduma in Bhubaneswar which has been declared as containment zone by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) expressed their annoyance alleging lack of adequate supply of essential commodities in the area on Wednesday.

According to reports, the residents of the area, apart from agitating, broke the barricade demanding immediate action by the local administration to provide them essential commodities.

Khandagiri police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the angry locals and assured them to look into the matter.

Besides, police force has also been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the BMC had on June 20 declared Dumduma as containment zone after several COVID19 positive cases detected from Subash Nagar Basti without any travel history for the last several days.
