Residents in Odisha’s Cuttack Burn Effigy of Xi Jinping to Protest Against China

Cuttack: The residents of Cuttack burned the effigy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, as a mark of protest in the aftermath of incidents along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Galwan Valley of Ladakh. They also destroyed and burned down Chinese flags in huge numbers.

Residents living in the Markat Nagar area of CDA Sector-6 in the city gathered in the morning and raised their voice against the violations of border norms by the Chinese Army along the LAC.

The city people criticized the attack of China which killed 20 Indian Jawans near the LAC on June 15. The message of boycotting Chinese goods in our day-to-day lives was one of the important messages in the protest.

Incidentally, 2 Jawans out of 20 martyred in the Galwan Valley faceoff of India-China belong to Odisha. The residents have expressed their condolences to the martyred soldiers. The people have also demanded that the Indian Government should take proper steps to Counter China’s violation of border issues.
