Relationship turning sour! Man kills wife in Ganjam, woman stabs husband to death in Cuttack district

Bhubaneswar: In today’s busy world, the relationship between husband and wife is gradually turning sour as several reports of fights among them come to the fore each day. Two such cases were reported from Odisha’s Ganjam and Cuttack districts.

According to reports, a woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death at the Harijan Sahi of Athagarh of Cuttack district. The deceased has been identified as Manguli Naik while the accused as Rina Naik.

Manguli’s sister, while speaking to the reporters, said that Rina is the second wife of the deceased and she killed her brother following a family dispute.

Meanwhile, the local police have started a probe into the matter.

Likewise, a man reportedly killed his wife at Chaitanyapur village under Digapahandi police station limits of Ganjam district. According to reports, a heated argument ensued between the couple – Hiranya Sethi and Jhunu Sethi – which turned ugly after Hiranya slit Junu’s throat with a sharp weapon.

Jhunu too attacked Hiranya in her bid to escape from him. While Jhunu died on the spot, Hiranya was rushed to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment in a critical condition.

Digapahandi police is said to have started an investigation into the murder case.
