Registration Mandatory For People Who Return Post Covid-19 Lock down, Says Odisha Government
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has made it mandatory for people who intend to return to the State, post the lock down to register in a portal or call on an exclusive helpline number.
“Those who want to return to Odisha must register before they return. Relatives and friends can register with the gram panchayats concerned. Returnees will stay for free in quarantine facilities for 14 days and then also given Rs 2,000 each as incentive,” said the Chief Minister in a video message.
The CM has also given District Collector power to all the the Sarpanchs of the villages in Odisha and made them take an oath via a video conference held yesterday.
According to reliable sources, an estimated 5 lakh people are expected to return to the State from various places.
A detailed guidelines and directions to the Sarpanchs to make necessary arrangements for quarantine facility will be issued by the Panchayati Raj and District Welfare Department.
Housing & Urban Development Department has been asked to identify a nodal officer for each GP. The nodal officer will be called as Gram Panchayat Nodal Officer (GPNO) who will facilitate registration.
All persons returning shall be kept in a 14 day quarantine in separate and exclusive quarantine facilities. In case of home quarantine a sticker should be pasted in front of the respective houses.
Every quarantined person shall be stamped with date in indelible ink. A sum of 2000 rupees will be paid on successful completion of the quarantine.
The expenditure on provision of temporary accommodation, food, drinking water, sanitation and medical care, etc. for the people in quarantine camps (other than home quarantine) shall be met out of State Disaster Response Fund.
