Rebel BJP workers protest at BJP state head office

Bhubaneswar: Members from BJP’s Jajpur district offic have begun demonstrating in front BJP state head office here from Thursday. The round-the-clock protest is against the alleged unfair actions by Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The delegation is making demands and chiefly protesting against undemocratic removal of 29 members of BJP and unlawful favourism in the party.

BJP Jajpur district leader Girigarima Mohanty directly accused Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of groupism. He said, “We didn’t join BJP for any monetary benefits. And still after all these years of hard work we are being sidelined. BJP is getting weaker day by day and Pradhan is to be blamed for it.”

Another leader Parshuram Mishra has accused the party of unlawful favoritism. He said, “State BJP is now solely ruled upon by Dharmendra Pradhan.  Ex-BJD and ex-Congress members who have now joined BJP are getting preference over the older members of the party, like the protesters. Pradhan is now following their command.” Mishra has threatened self-immolation if their demands are not met.

The clash seems to be growing against the new and old members of the BJP. With elections just a few months away, this may not be good news for state BJP.

BJP state head Basanta Kumar Panda or Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have not yet made any official reply to the protestors.
