“Read High Court Order before making any statement”: Pinaki Mishra to Sambit Patra over Srimandir Parikrama project row

Bhubaneswar: “Read High Court Order before making any statement,” advised Puri MP Pinaki Mishra to BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra over the Srimandir Parikrama project row.

Earlier today, Sambit Patra had said that the State government has not been given permission to undertake the Parikrama project, which destroys the ancient heritage.

Reacting to Sambit Patra’s statement, Pinaki Mishra said, “He (Sambit Patra) must read the High Court Order before making any statement. It is not fair to give statements only to remain in the news.”

While reading the court order, the Parliamentarian said, “State government will keep in view the observation of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) when it undertakes further work at the Parikrama site, which means, the High Court has permitted the ongoing work at the Parikrama site.”

“While there is no stay order of the High Court, on what basis does Sambit Patra says that the work must stop. The National Monuments Authority (NMA) has given NOC, which is enough to undertake work at the Parikrama site,” he added.

The MP further said that the High Court on ASI’s affidavit has said that it is vague and fails to be specific. Therefore, Sambit Patra should remain silent; if not personally he must file a petition at the High Court.

“The protest against the Srimandir Parikrama project is nothing but (their) political frustration. It is not any individual’s personal work. It is everyone’s and that of Lord Jagannath,” Mishra said.
