Re-opening in schools: HC asks Odisha govt to take decision within 2 months amid Covid protocols

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday has directed the Odisha government to take decision on reopening of schools in the State within two months.

A single bench of Justice Biswanath Rath passed the order regrading re-opening of schools.

The court issued the direction after hearing a petition filed by Ranjita Mohapatra seeking reopening of schools amid COVID restrictions.

Justice Rath directed the State government to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take lawful action in the matter taking into account the grounds stated in the writ petition.

As restrictions due to resurgence of COVID-19 situation are continuing, learned counsel for the parties may utilize a printout of the order available in the High Court’s website, at par with certified copy.
