Rath Yatra 2022: Jagannath Temple Managing Committee To Hold Meeting Today

Puri: A meeting will be held by Puri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee this afternoon ahead of Rath Yatra 2022. The meeting will be held at Niladri Bhakta Niwas at Bada Danda under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deba.

Reportedly, the meeting will be attended by Srimandir Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav, District Collector Samarth Burma, SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, Srimandir Administrative Officers, and members of the Managing Committee.

The construction of Srimandir Gurukul and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with its management is likely to be discussed in the meeting.

Likewise, a discussion is also likely to be held regarding the participation of devotees in the Snana Purnima along with world-famous Rath Yatra.

Notably, there are tentatively two plans in place in this regard. The first plan is – if devotees would be allowed, what will be the arrangement and the second plan is – if the Covid situation worsens what will be done during Rath Yatra.

For the last two years, devotees were not allowed to physically participate in Rath Yatra due to the Covid pandemic.

The district administration will install 236 CCTV cameras before Rath Yatra 2022. These CCTV cameras will be installed at Jagannath Temple and Gundicha Temple for safety purposes as huge numbers of devotees are expected to attend this year’s annual Rath Yatra.
