Nayagarh: As many as five persons have been arrested in Nayagarh district of Odisha as they had tied a rape victim minor girl to a pole and beat her. The incident took place in Ranapur area of the district.
As per reports, Babu Parida of Hinjili village under Ranapur Police Station in the district had taken away a minor girl and raped.
Following the incident the victim’s family members complained the matter to the Sarpanch and Ward member of the area. However, as they were could not get justice, they lodged an FIR in this connection in Ranapur Police Station.
Being aggrieved with the Police complaint, some people of the village including women tied the victim minor girl to a pole and beat her.
After getting information about this Ranapur Police reached the spot and rescued the girl. Police have arrested 5 people in this connection. Further investigation of the case is underway.
