Bhubaneswar: Devotees in large numbers turned up at the temples of Lord Sriram across the state starting from the morning today as the state celebrated the holy Ram Navami with much pomp and gaiety.
Long queues were seen outside the temples where recital of Ramayan, Ramcharitmanas and Ram Katha Amrit took place. Devotees offered morning pujas and prayers before Lord Sriram who happens to be the incarnation of Lord Bishnu as per the Hindu religious texts.
In the state capital Bhubaneswar, Ram Mandir wore a festive look with a jam-packed crowd of devotees. Special arrangements from the temple authority were put in place for the occasion. Similarly, Sri Jagannath temple in religious town Puri is slated to hold special rituals for Ram Navami today.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were among those who wished the people on the occasion of Ram Navami on their twitter handles.
In a beautiful note to the citizen on twitter Kovind advised them to adhere to the messages of Lord Sriram.

Similalry, PM Modi posted Ram Navami wishes with a montage of himself in which he is seen praying to Lord Ram.

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan posted his wish on twitter with a beautiful picture of Lord Ram, Laxman and Devi Sita.

Holy Ram Navami is celebrated at the end of the nine-day Navratri festival to mark the birth of Lord Ram as per the Hindu lunar calendar every year.
