Bhubaneswar: BJD’s Rajya Sabha candidates Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Prashanta Nanda and Dr. Achyuta Samanta who filed their nomination papers here today also declared the amount of their assets. Their declaration revealed that media baron Soumya Ranjan is the richest among the three nominees.
As per the affidavit of property and financial assets which he submitted with the returning officer, Soumya Ranjan has immovable property worth Rs 6.57 crore and movable property of Rs 11.52 crore.
Likewise, Prashanta Nanda, in his nomination papers, declared owning immovable property of Rs 29.20 lakh and movable property of Rs 50 lakh. The senior BJD leader also said that his wife owns assets worth Rs 2.86 crore.
On the other hand, Dr. Samanta, the founder of KISS and KIIT, turned out to be poorest in the category with immovable property worth Rs 4.12 lakh and movable property of Rs 83,714.
