As per a bulletin issued this morning by the MeT department, the depression will further into a deep depression in the next 12 hours and are likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in the subsequent 24 hours.

The cyclonic storm is very likely to move west-northwestwards initially and then north-northwestwards to head towards Odisha-West Bengal coast, the report added.

Similarly, informing on the cycle IMD Director-General Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said, the depression lays centred about 950 km away from Paradip coast currently. The same is heading toward West Bengal-Bangladesh coast and less likely to cross Odisha coast, he added.

However, under the impact of the cyclonic storm Odisha will receive rainfall by November 8, the IMD DG claimed.

Issuing caution to fishermen, Mohapatra said the sea will remain disturbed starting from November 9 and hence they should return by November 8.
