The Central Railway (Central Railway) has reduced the prices of platform tickets by Rs 40 from Rs 50. Hence, people will have to pay Rs 10 for a platform ticket instead of Rs 50.

It is to be noted here that the Indian Railways had increased the prices of platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 50 after the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

Besides, railways had stopped the operation of trains during the time of the pandemic. But later when the situation of Covid started improving, Indian Railways gradually started resuming the operation of trains and the numbers of all trains were changed to special category.

Along with this, the prices of train tickets were also increased. The Railways had decided to increase the price of platform tickets to Rs 50 during the Corona period. These decisions were taken with an aim to check the gathering of unnecessary crowds on the platforms.

However, as the normal train services have started following the reduction of COVID cases and a huge number of vaccination across the country, the Central Railway has reduced the platform tickets to Rs 10 instead of Rs 50.

According to the order issued by the Central Railway, the price of platform tickets at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Thane, Kalyan and Panvel stations has now been reduced to Rs 10 with effect from November 25.
