Raghunanth Mohanty resigns as OLIC Chairman
Bhubaneswar: Adding to the ever-changing political climate in the State ahead of the upcoming general election this year, former Minister and a senior BJD leader Raghunath Mohanty today resigned as the Chairman of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC).
Mohanty arrived at BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik’s residence and submitted his resignation in the morning.
Later answering to media persons, the former minister said he quit the post due to some personal reason.
In his response to contest from his home constituency Basta, Mohanty maintained it that the decision of giving him a ticket to fight poll solely rests with the party supremo.
Notably, CM Naveen Patnaik had appointed Mohanty as the Chirman of OLIC on May 24 last year. He had been accorded the rank of a Cabinet Minister also.
