Sambalpur: A class 10 boy student of private residential school in Sasan area of Sambalpur district has been allegedly stripped naked and beaten up by his classmates in the hostel of the educational institution.
Reportedly, the incident took place on April 17, following which the school authorities initiated disciplinary action on Thursday. As a result, as many as eight students have been expelled from the school hostel for ragging their classmate.
The minor victim has alleged that he was in his own hostel room when two of his classmates came and took him to another room. Thereafter, he was allegedly tied by his hands, legs following which he was stripped naked and later they started thrashing him.
The minor boy also alleged that he tried to lodge a complaint in this regard with the school authorities the next day on April 18, but the matter was not considered by them.
Hence, his family members informed regarding the same to the Managaing Director (MD) of the school.
Thereafter, the school authorities held a meeting of the disciplinary committee and initiated a probe into the matter.
The students involved in this ragging incident were questioned and were directed to leave the hostel immediately. It has also been learnt that the hostel warden will also be fired.
