Puri: A youth drowned to death while bathing in the sea in Puri district of Odisha today. The deceased has been identified as Vijendra Barick a resident of Jagatpur area in Cuttack.
As per reports, Vijendra along with ten other friends had gone to Puri and was bathing in the sea near Digabareni square while he went missing.
Unfortunately no life guards were available at the spot during the time of the incident, said Dilu Biswal (Vijendra’s friend).
After being informed by his friends the lifeguard and fire personnel began searching for him. Later the dead body of Vijendra was found after it was washed to the shore by the waves.
Police reached the spot and has recovered the body and is awaiting the arrival of the family members.
