Puri Srimandir Servitor Murder Case: 6 accused arrested

Bhubaneswar: In today’s development regarding the murder of the former member of Puri Jagannath temple managing committee, Krushna Chandra Pratihari, six accused including two conspirators have been arrested by the police, informed SP Kanwar Vishal Singh in a press meet.

Reportedly, the two conspirators father-son duo have been identified as Kalia Singhari & Dolagobinda Singhari while the four other accused are Muna Patra, Sandeep Jena, Kalu Panigrahi, and Baba Mohapatra.

SP Singh further informed that the accused poeple had made an attempt earlier also to attack Krushna Chandra Pratihari, but were unsuccessful. Munna Patra had supplied weapons for the crime while Baba Mohapatra was on the spot to inform about Pratihari whereas Sandeep Jena had the hideout plans, he added.

“All the accused will be taken on remand to recreate the crime scene,” said SP Singh.

Earlier on Sunday, four accused were detained by the police for interrogation.

Four teams of police were formed for the investigation. They carried out raids at several places to ascertain more details in relation to Pratihari’s murder. During the post mortem procedure, two bullets were removed from Pratihari’s head. He was hit by bullets on his head from behind.

Pratihari was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants near the Barabati area. An eyewitness has stated that two miscreants came on a motorcycle and shot two rounds of bullets on Pratihari following which they fled from the spot. It is being suspected that Pratihari has been shot dead over some past enmity.
