Puri Srimandir reopens for devotees amid Covid-19 protocols

Puri: The Puri Srimandir reopened today after two days to curb the spread of coronavirus amid rising Omicron cases across the State.

Reportedly, the temple was shut on 31.12.2021 and 01.01.2022 on account of a large gathering that was anticipated on those days.

Extensive arrangements have been made by the district and police administration so that the COVID protocols will be strictly followed by the visitors.

The devotees have been urged to abide by all the rules of Covid including social distancing, usage of masks and to enter the temple within the barricades.

The devotees can enter the temple for the darshan of Lords from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM on all days. However, the temple will remain closed for public darshan on all Sundays as per the SOP.

The Jaya Bijaya Dwar and Beherana Dwar remains closed for performance of special rituals like Banaka Lagi & Paita Lagi. As of now entry to the temple for that period was prohibited under the SOP’s issued earlier. There will be no restrictions on the entry of devotees to the temple complex for darshan of Parshva Devtas, to visit Anand Bazaar, etc.
