Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar inspection ends

Puri: Amidst tight security, the 16-member team concluded the inspection of Ratna Bhandar, treasure of Jagannath temple, here in the holy city of Odisha on Wednesday.

The team examined only two rooms of outer Ratna Bhandar as per the traditional rituals and found crack on the wall and roof. However, the inner Bhandar was not inspected.

“The team members entered the Ratna Bhandar through the Jagamohan at around 2.25 PM and examined the outer Ratna Bhandar. They found the wall and roof of the Ratna Bhandar wet, ” SJTA Chief Administrator Pradeep Kumar Jena told media persons.

“The ASI has prepared the preliminary report about today’s inspection of Ratna Bhandar. We will go through the report and the detailed report will be submitted to the Orissa High Court on April 5,” he added.

The team included Tadau Karan and Deula Karan, Pattajoshi Mohapatra, Bhandar Mekap, representative of Puri Gajapati, Orissa High Court representative Justice NK Mohanty, Puri Collector and SP, three engineers of ASI, two officials of ASI’s technical core committee – GC Mitra and NC Pal, two members of Ratna Bhandar sub-committee, SJTA Chief Pradeep Jena and Chief Administrator (Rituals) Pradeep Kumar Das.
